And the rest of you, bring me that medallion!

Metal wall art from Urban Outfitters

(Has anyone seen the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, by the way? Any good?)

I'm working up a medallion-inspired print for work and was doing a little hunting around for inspirational imagery this morning. Thought I would share a few of the nice things I found.

Helen Dardik

A few lovely patterns by the fantastic Helen Dardik to share with you this morning. I can't believe I didn't know about her until only a few months ago. She is a source of constant inspiration.

The Rodent Burrow

Hi everyone! I've got a couple more guest bloggers lined up but I'll be back by the middle of this week—pinky swear! And I have lots of thesis news I can't wait to share with you.

For now, I just wanted to pop in and tell you all about the pop-up etsy shop that my class has just set up. We've had a semester long project to create 10 of one item to be marketed on etsy for a month in our class shop, The Rodent Burrow. There is some really neat handmade swag available included these laser-cut cardboard chandeliers and these beautiful wooden wall-art tiles. There are also some Paris-themed stamp sets made by yours truly!

There are also more items that have yet to be added like fun cup-cozies by Abi. (Those are the wormies and a couple of disembodied cat heads. Alligators still to be made!)

Ok, that's the end of my spiel. See you later this week!

Variations on a pattern

Boring post-title alert. Certainly does not do these lovely patterns from Marimekko justice. I'll put these in my file of awesome things I wish I had designed.

Hope everyone has a magnificent weekend! I'm off to see these guys later tonight in North Van.
