I was watching a documentary a few nights ago about the moon which featured some clips from Le voyage dans la lune. This French black and white silent short film is loosely based on a couple of books by Jules Verne and H.G. Wells and is acknowledged as the first science fiction film. I thought is was so charming and I loved all the imagery. It almost feels like a Baron Munchausen tale to me. I also love this Pumpkins' video that drew inspiration from le voyage.
