Day Tripper: Bellingham

Bellingham is just a hop, skip, and a jump from where I live in Vancouver, so over the holidays my family took a day trip down there on New Years. For being so close, I haven't really spent much time there. Just the occasional shopping trip to the mall or Target (plus a stop at the amazing dairy just across the border). The actual downtown part of Bellingham is very cute. We spent some time at the Whatcom Museum and then had lunch at the Community Food Co-op. After that, it was a short drive down to Fairhaven where we spent a few hours in Village Books.

  1. My husband did an internship with Indian Health Services in Bellingham when we were first married. We were there in August, and it was beautiful! It's part of what convinced us to move to the Pacific Northwest.

  3. I love Bellingham! Such a beautiful city. I miss Village Books and the co-op, those were some of my favorite hang outs when I was going to Western.

That sunset photo is incredible and the one with the hand and the colored shapes is super cool.

  4. Actually, that's a picture of OLD city hall, which is now part of the Whatcom Museum. The "new" Art Deco city hall is a block and a half north of there.
