I've been working away at thesis all day and wanted to share this little bit with you. I've started to work on my map for Milwaukee and when I was researching what I should include on my map, my roommate (a native Milwaukeean) was adamant that I include Leon's on it. It is a local drive-in known for its frozen custard.
You may think that frozen custard is similar to ice cream, but it is my duty as an adopted Wisconsinite to inform you that it is not the same. Milwaukee has more frozen custard stores per capita than anywhere else in the world! Despite living in Milwaukee for almost four years now, I still have yet to visit Leon's but it is officially on my Milwaukee bucket list.
Ah! You're driving me crazy. I can't wait to see your finished thesis. I do hope you are going to share every last detail! Just love your style x
ReplyDeletehehe i have a few new friends from Milwaukee - i'll have to ask them about this! in philly we have rita's water ice, which sells frozen custard. I wonder if it's the same?
ReplyDeleteNever been to Milwaukee but sounds so much fun ! I hope I can go there some day! kisses
ReplyDeletei just love your random facts! i had no idea about this obviously iconic hot spot or the fact that ample amounts of frozen custard are being gobbled up in Milwaukee at an astounding rate. AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteplus, okay your illustration, as per yooj, is amazing. ♥
hey! i LOVE your illustrations! they are so great! i'm really excited to see more of your thesis project!
ReplyDeleteThere is a great frozen custard stand I frequent. It is completely different than ice cream and definitely worth including on a bucket list.
ReplyDeleteI too am looking forward to seeing your end result. I just know it will be fabulous.
ReplyDeleteSide note: frozen custard sounds like the best thing since sliced cheese (assuming that it hasn't been around longer than sliced cheese... I don't know my food history very well).
