Grooveshark is revamping their site and haven't quite gotten to the widgets part yet so please go here to listen to October's mix.
Reading and seeing The Perks of Being a Wallflower this past month made me lament the fact that I didn't grow up during the time of authentic mixtapes, when people would sit down and record song by song onto a blank tape.
In October I usually find myself retreating to the artists that recall the nostalgia and pensiveness that characterize the autumn season. It's time to break out the Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, and Iron & Wine. The low-key list kind of breaks down around Jackie Wilson but hey, what are you gonna do?
What have you been listening to this past month? Are there any artists that you return to every fall? Any great autumn playlists you've run across? I'd love to hear in comments if you'd like to share. I've included some links to a few other autumn playlists after the jump along with this month's playlist.
A few other autumn mixes I've been enjoying:
The Cinder & The Smoke | Vol. 15 in Ryan Sworth's collection of mixtapes (they're all awesome).
Hard Times (Come Again No More) | From my favourite music blog, I Am Fuel, You Are Friends.
Pumpkin Spice Playlist | From A Beautiful Mess.
Looking forward to listening to this one - that Andrew Bird song has (as always) completely charmed me!
