JANUARY MIX

I find it interesting looking back at what I was listening to one year ago now that my monthly mixes have come full circle. This past month was an excellent month music-wise. Some of the highlights included:

  • Seeing the Punch Brothers, front and center (seriously, I had my beer resting on the stage)
  • Having that Icona Pop song on repeat for days after it was featured in an episode of Girls
  • Seeing Trampled by Turtles in Madison

I also included a couple of videos for songs that weren't on grooveshark but I loved too much to exclude from the list which you can find after the jump. As always, please feel free to let me know what you've been listening to lately in comments!

This lovely song was shared on Black Eiffel last week.

I shared this one last week but I think you really can't listen to this song enough. I just picture it ending a Tarantino film or something.

And, just in case some of the songs disappear from Grooveshark in the future as they have a tendency to do, here is the complete track list:

Sinnerman Nina Simone
Someday The Growlers
If You Got the Money Jamie T
Can't Say No April Smith and the Great Picture Show
Safe and Sound Capital Cities
I Love It Icona Pop (feat. Charli XCX)
Two Fingers Jake Bugg
This Girl Punch Brothers
Firewater Django Django
Alone Trampled by Turtles
State Trooper Bruce Springsteen
I Follow Rivers Lykke Li
Sinking Ship Port Isla
Girl From the North Country Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan
Schubert: Impromptu, Op. 90 D.899, No. 3 in G Flat Major Elizabeth Leonskaja
